What a brilliant couple of days we had at the Natspec conference, meeting with the heads of England’s specialist colleges! We were thrilled to be there, taking a stand alongside our new partners, Nexer Digital. Together, we launched our collaboration by offering colleges a free website health check. This report, based on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), is the first step in ensuring no student, parent, or staff member is excluded by digital barriers.
This partnership sees Nexer Digital training our SENDCode team in expert manual and automated accessibility testing. It’s been particularly inspiring to have Ryan, a former supported intern and now an Accessibility Engineer at Nexer, back in our offices helping to train our staff.
At our stand, visitors could try on simulation glasses and use other devices designed to replicate visual and manual impairments. These tools offered a tangible demonstration of the real-world barriers that non-compliant design creates for users every day. This principle of inclusive design is now at the core of our own work. The learning from our partnership with Nexer is directly strengthening our services, guaranteeing our products are built to be accessible from day one.
If you missed us, it’s not too late to take the first step towards better accessibility. We’re here to help any organisation ensure its website is open and usable for all. Please contact us to learn more.
