From Work Placement to Digital Impact: Ryan’s Journey with Nexer Digital

Ryan first joined SENDCode’s partner Nexer Digital on a work placement in September 2024 after graduating from DISC, a close partner of SENDCode. From the very start, he showed a strong eagerness to develop his technical skills and quickly made a positive impression.

With a meticulous eye for detail, Ryan soon became a valuable member of the team—especially in the areas of accessibility and usability testing. His work on multiple Nexer sites has uncovered several important issues, helping the team make key improvements from both a technical and accessibility perspective.

A Nexer team member said:

“Several issues that he has found on the sites are going to be really valuable to improving the site from both an accessibility view and also from a technical standpoint,” said a Nexer team member.
“He has a keen eye for this sort of thing and is taking his time to go through each page meticulously and raise anything that doesn’t seem right to him.”

Recognising his contribution and potential, Nexer extended Ryan’s contract, giving him more time to deepen his skills and continue making an impact.

Ryan’s journey from intern to valued team member shows what’s possible when young people are given the right support and opportunity. His story is also a powerful reminder of why accessibility must remain at the heart of every digital project—and how inclusive platforms benefit everyone.
